HOTZENPLOTZ —
Mural in Valparaíso, Chile, 2026
At the beginning of 2026 the lovely owner of the Hotzenplotz Alegre, a German beer garden offering the most delicious beer that you’ll find in Valparaíso, invited me to paint the outside wall. The novel “Der Räuber Hotzenplotz” is a German classic, so obviously I had to incorporate it in my Mural.
Since the aesthetics of this bar is already monochrome, we decided to go with a black and white style - something I haven´t painted for a long time.
The final illustration is loosely based on the novel, but giving it a modern twist with - of course - a masked creature serving as a protector of space and time.
